Natural Skin Products: Homemade Astringent for Acne Prone Skin
October 11, 2008
An astringent helps remove the last traces of cleanser from your skin. It can also remove excess oil inbetween cleansing, which may be needed especially for acne prone skin. Try this homemade version made with all natural ingredients.
Ingredients:
8 oz distilled water or a floral water
2 drops Lavender essential oil
1 drop Palmarosa essential oil
1 drop Rosewood essential oil
Instructions:
Pour water into a plastic bottle. Add all three oils, cap bottle tightly and shake to mix all ingredients together. Using cotton balls, apply toner to your face.
Be sure to cover entire face and neck and avoid the eye area. Toner will keep for up to one week but be sure to shake well before each use to mix ingredients well.

This is cool:) another great natural astringent that I use in my home-base spa is witchhazel. It’s a natural astringent from the Hamamelis tree.
@lmie – i’ve heard about witch hazel too. must keep that in mind! thanks!
I have tried Lavender essential oil for acne, but not with Rosewood and Parmarosa before. I will try that and see if it helps more, Lavender by itself does a good job.
