		<description>Thanks for the site. From my 3 year training, 30 years of teaching, as well as FM writings, I believe that Inhibition is the ability to STOP or inhibit a harmful movement pattern so that we can initiate the correct use of  the Primary Control in any movement. 
I understand &quot;Direction&quot; to mean &quot;I allow my neck to be free, so that the head can release forward and up, so that the back can lengthen and widen. Giving these directions establishes the engagement of the Primary Control which in turns organizes any movement. FM Alexander did not believe in visualization regarding  improving body use,  but rather the direct experience initiated by a trained teacher&#039;s use of her hands and verbal cues with the student.</description>
